Success at the 2008 Nemo Conference

There was an excellent turnout on both days of the Nemo conference – Friday 27 and Saturday 28 – which was launched under the theme of ‘Learn from the Past, Watch the Present and Create the Future’.
Held in Daventry, Friday saw a golfing morning attended by members and suppliers alike, before an afternoon business session featuring the speakers Mark Townsend and Terry Kenneally.
Townsend, a former priest who combines magic with mythology, performed his own brand of storytelling and humour for the conference, whilst Kenneally – author of Sell It! and The Triumph of Failure, provided the audience with a self-styled motivational talk. The evening rounded off with a look back at the 80’s, dancing and drinking to see us through.
Saturday began with the company’s AGM and the supplier exhibition, ahead of a Gala dinner and awards evening, compèred by Allan Pease.
Pease, who has written bestsellers such as Why Men Don’t Listen and Women Can’t Read Maps, inspired and entertained the audience before the prizes were handed out.
The supplier section saw Acco presented with the Gold Award, with Concord Office Products (Silver) and William Jones Clifton Ltd (Bronze) also acknowledged.
Spicers received both the Distributor and Special Recognition awards.
In the members category, Rapid Office Equipment were noted for their EOS % Growth, as were Grafton Projects for their EOS Cash Growth.
In addition, the Office Style % Growth prize was given to Jones Wholesaler, with George Rose Office Products accepting the Office Style Cash Growth award.
During the weekend the group raised £2,000, which will be equally split between BOSS Benevolent and the Chairman’s nominated charity Deafblind UK.
