 | Despite a cold and wintry start to the year, Nemo attracted a record number of suppliers to the group’s 2010 Catalogue Launch and Conference Exhibition held at Bredbury Hall Hotel, Stockport on the 14th January 2010.
Addressing a meeting of members and suppliers, group chairman Derek Bamford thanked suppliers for the support they had provided during a year which had been challenging for the industry and looked forward to 2010 with optimism as there was evidence that the ‘Green shoots of recovery were pushing through’. He went on to announce that the group had chosen the Jeff Vega Family Fund as its nominated charity for 2010. Jeff, who was a BPGI Executive Director, tragically died as a result of a motorcycle accident in October 2009 and the fund is set up to provide financial support for Jeff’s family.
Introducing the 2010 catalogue, Nemo Marketing Manager, Sammy Bartley highlighted some of the key features, many of which assist customers find and select appropriate products from the range of over 5,000 products featured within the catalogue’s 372 pages. Nemo have indicated a commitment to environmental awareness and offer an extensive range of environmentally friendly products which feature prominently throughout the catalogue, itself printed on recycled paper.
The afternoon exhibition provided a platform for suppliers to showcase their latest products and hosted new suppliers, such as Atlanta Office Products, BlackDog, First Events, Frank Sammeroff, Tombow and UFP. In addition to the networking, members had the opportunity to vote for the keenly contested and prestigious Best New Product of the Show award. Details of the winning product will be announced in due course.
Enthusiastic and lively discussion gave way to more informal conversation as the day’s activities concluded with the group hosting a Chinese meal to thank suppliers for their support, which has now become a long established Nemo tradition and remains unique to the industry. |
