The renowned annual NEMO Conference delivered on its high expectations this year as another event surpassed the last and reiterated the goals and ambitions of the innovative dealer group. The event, held at the De Vere Wokefield Park Hotel in Mortimer between Friday 28th and Sunday 30th June, centred on the themes ‘together we’re stronger’ and ‘around the world’.

The weekend kicked off with a series of team building activities – golf, laser clay pigeon shooting, driving Segway’s and even beer keg racing, all hotly contested. The weather matched attendee’s high spirits and coupled with the stunning grounds made for a great high tempo start.

Friday evening’s around the world themed street party provided the ideal opportunity for everyone to taste the delights of a selection of world food whilst members and suppliers interacted and exchanged ideas.

Saturday began early with a presentation from a true peer of the industry, Lord Digby Jones who gave a captivating insight into political issues and the challenges UK markets face. The business session continued with a vendor exhibition, where a record numbers of vendors showcased new products and further developed their relationships with members, whilst giving the opportunity for NEMO’s newest members and suppliers to get a firsthand feel to the camaraderie of the group. The around the world theme continued with vendors bringing their best fancy dress outfits to the show, including cowgirls, pirates and traditional Japanese Kimono’s.

Saturday evening played host to the legendary Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony. Guests enjoyed a three course meal and some fabulous entertainment set to the back drop of the around the world theme where stunning props of different continents decorated the room.

The NEMO Awards themselves were, as always, keenly contested. Recognising the achievements of both suppliers and members, the awards are divided into a number of categories.  This year’s winners were:

Even with this professional enthusiasm it doesn’t deter from the ‘team feeling’ that you get when attending a NEMO conference.

‘The motto ‘together we are stronger’ that NEMO have adopted could not be better suited to a business within the industry and I truly feel this is where the success of the future lies for everyone.’

Gordon Moore, Sales & Marketing Director of DAMS International expressed his thoughts on the weekend, ‘it was a fantastic conference with a great atmosphere.
