NEMO teams up with Ambassador Antalis, the industrial packaging division of Antalis Ltd, Sealed Air and Diamond Box to help the disaster relief following on from super typhoon Haiyan
NEMO were contacted by the International Christian Fellowship (ICF) Charity, with a call to help to get clothes and food out to the disaster zones in the Philippines as quickly as possible.
Mark Thompson of ICF said “We coordinated a social media campaign to collect clothes and food, with collection points across the UK. We have been amazed by the level of response and have been overwhelmed with the sheer quantity from the collections. We approached NEMO for some help with packaging materials, because we had no suitable boxes. We wanted to make family packs, which would keep a family going for a month”
Tim Beaumont, MD at NEMO said “It only took one call and immediately Antalis, Sealed Air and Diamond Box responded sending, boxes, tape, bubble wrap and carton outers to ICF.
Tim continues “It’s fantastic that our industry is so willing to help and a big thank you to those companies that were so generous. I spent just one day, driving a lorry picking up donations from around the country. You would not believe how much you can get into a 7 tonne lorry! The teams at ICF, worked into the night re-packing, readying the boxes to be shipped to the Philippines”.
